The association contributes to development of society by inspiring innovative leaders, who contribute to increased competitiveness both nationally and internationally. Diamanten's goal is to contribute to an increasing number of women in leading positions, such as managers, experts, and board members in all sectors of society. The association endeavors to develop the leadership skills of its members by offering them high-quality lectures and training. Since 2007, Diamanten has been running a professional mentoring program aimed at young women in their first leadership positions, either as a manager or a leading expert. The mentoring program is implemented in cooperation with MPS. Since 2020, Diamanten has also been working with Boardman to organize board training and has run several training programs for board professionals. Diamond also cooperates with many different organizations, chambers of commerce and networks.

In accordance with Diamanten's Strategy 2020-2024, its purpose is fulfilled through a variety of activities:

  • Organization of network meetings, seminars and lectures 
  • Increased and deepened exchange and interaction between members
  • Developing the association's mentoring program to contribute to new generations of women leaders
  • Contributing to increasing the number of women in management and boards through the development and arrangement of the board training concept and alumni activities
  • Profiling of the members and the knowledge base that the network 
  • Increased co-operation with similar networks in Finland and the Nordic countries

Founded in 2006 as a forum for women in leadership from all sectors of society, Diamanten was registered as an association in 2012, initiated by Carola Teir-Lehtinen and Gunvor Kronman. The network was immediately well received and started out with about 40 members. Today, Diamanten has around 150 members with leading positions within their sector.
